been a long time.....!

I think this should become my maxim after all that has happened and is happening right now and over the last months.
Writing a blog about food, when you are unwell is no easy matter, even although my appetite is still relatively intact.  Of course, since it is not myself who currently does the cooking, I can't really decide what happens, so I'm just happy to get something to eat - now and then! My appetite is still reasonable, in fact more than reasonable, but I just can't stand up to cook anything!
Today is the 6th August, and is the 5th day of my new medicaments, time that I tried to get up, or at least to the edge of the bed, and hope the vertigo/vertige is supportable.
It is a shame that I can't concentrate on the subject matter, after all - food is rather a large subject, but talking about it isn't too great, one needs to sample it.....!
Living where I do, where the weather is often very hot, it is easy to eat just what one wants to - often quite light things. But.....now and then, even unwell, there is a sudden urge to fill oneself with all those bad things.............Well, I've managed to stay clear so far, probably because you can't buy the stuff where I live!   Shame, shame, shame!
Never mind, I'll stay with another one of my favourites, smoked fish - of all kinds, not just the boring smoked salmon, bu smoked trout, smoked halibut, smoked sturgeon, and even just the lowly kipper or some of those delicious smoked sprats.....
It's true that European smoked fish tends to be less exotic than much of the World variety, but it is delicious, as is the exotic variety, shame we can't get it more easily. I recall in Germany being in heaven, smoked eel and many other smoked delices were readily available, and even halibut and mussels and oysters used to be available smoked....I liked them, although I do prefer my oysters and mussels natural and freshly raw!Just waiting to wriggle and wriggle around inside ya.....

Amazing really where the mind takes you sometimes, but then I mustn't knock it.......let's imagine it was all true.....
